The summer holidays can be lots of fun and when your kids have time off school, you can spend more time together as a family. However, the school holidays can also be quite difficult for parents and you might not know what to do with your kids during the time they have off. Not to mention, filling your days with different activities can be very expensive.

There is a great solution that all parents should consider this summer; applying for mystery shopper jobs. When you become a mystery shopper, you can have lots of fun with your family and enjoy a vast range of activities during the school holidays without worrying about how much they cost. Different mystery shopping assignments pay in different ways, sometimes you will be reimbursed for purchases and other times you will get paid for the mystery shop, and you can check the shopper fee on the assignment before applying.

If you’ve never considered working for a mystery shopping company and you’re wondering what types of assignments you can carry out with your family, below we have looked into some of the different activities you could participate in when you start working as a mystery shopper.

    Enjoy a game of bowling

Businesses in the leisure and entertainment sector often use mystery shops to help them provide the perfect user experience. Lots of parents take their kids bowling during the school holidays and this is a great activity that everyone can enjoy. You may have the chance to visit bowling companies like Lane 7 and Hollywood Bowl when conducting mystery shops, and you can have a brilliant day out whilst helping businesses improve their customer experience.

    Go swimming

Another classic summer holiday activity is swimming and mystery shopping companies regularly work with businesses in the fitness industry. You could visit a health club, like David Lloyd Clubs, this summer with your family and test out the facilities on-site. Whether you get a day pass or a monthly membership, you can try several different activities and have lots of fun together, as long as you provide useful feedback to a health club about your visit/s.

Stay at a hotel or holiday park

Going on holiday with your family can cost a lot of money, but if you complete some mystery shopping assignments whilst you’re away, this can help to make your trip more affordable. Hotels like Best Western and holiday parks like Parkdean Resorts use mystery shopping services, and there are lots of mystery shopping opportunities at these family-friendly accommodations. You can have a great weekend away with your kids, enjoy the activities, facilities and entertainment available, and help business owners improve their services.

    Visit a dessert house

With the rising cost of living, many families don’t eat out as often as they used to, but you can treat your kids this summer when you’re a mystery shopper. Businesses in the hospitality industry, like Kaspa’s Desserts, will use mystery shops to deliver consistently excellent products and user experiences. So, you can enjoy a free sweet treat with your family and put a smile on your kids’ faces when carrying out this type of mystery shopping assignment.

    Go on a shopping trip

Mystery shopping is traditionally associated with the retail sector and a vast range of retail businesses work with mystery shopping companies to attract and drive more footfall into their stores. You can get the kids involved with retail mystery shops, especially if the assignment is for a children’s toy store, for example, and this kind of mystery shop can be more fun than you may think. Keep an eye out for the best assignments during the summer holidays.
